As many of you know, several European organizations and institutions are joining forces to support the training of cranio-maxillofacial surgeons in Tanzania through a range of dedicated programs.

At the end of this August 2025, three junior maxillofacial surgeons — Dr. Enock Alphonce Roby, Dr. Abbas Mussa Mungia, and Dr. Arnold Mtenga — currently working at Muhimbili University Teaching Hospital in Dar es Salaam, will begin an intensive training program.

The initiative is led by oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Albert Wittkampf of the Dutch Foundation for the Development of Maxillofacial Surgery in Tanzania (www.MKA-Tanzania.nl), and carried out in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Health Cooperation (FECS).

The program will kick off with their enrollment in the 2025 International Online Global Oral Cancer Diploma (AO CMF), a 10-month course designed to prepare them for their upcoming head and neck oncology fellowship in two leading teaching hospitals in the Netherlands next year.
